Georgiana Cavendish, The Duchess of Devonshire (part 2)

Welcome, welcome welcome back to Queens Podcast! We’re here to wrap up the fabulous, scandalous and kinda sad life of Georgiana Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire.

If you’re not a Patreon supporter, we also recently reviewed the movie The Duchess (all levels episode!). It’s a movie about Georgiana’s life starring Kiera Knightly. Have you seen it? What did you think of it?

It was…meh

In this continuation of her story we find Georgiana shinning as a political force, which is super awesome except that the newspapers were a bag of dicks and she suffered unfair scrutiny from the public as a result. For instance, here she is “trading kisses for votes” (insert eye roll)

Of course, we had to take a closer look at G & Bess Foster’s relationship. We can’t agree on if we believe it be sexual in nature or not, but we had a lot of fun debating it! What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!

“I think they’re flicking each other’s beans”

—Queen Nathan

Honestly, this episode was so interesting to research because of the book “Georgiana Duchess of Devonshire” by Amanda Foreman. There is so much we just had to leave out otherwise this could have been a whole season on the kinda hot mess that was G’s life. We had to skip over her codependent relationship with her sister, her sister’s dumpster fire of a marriage, Bess’ other affairs, the Duke’s other affairs, maybe G’s other affairs (EVERYONE’S HAVING AFFAIRS), more trips to France and so much more!

But, I promise you what we did cover is still pretty amazing and we cannot wait to hear what you think. So, pour yourself a drink and get ready for some drama.

Cheers!

I think it’s only $4 on kindle right now. I’m not saying, I’m just saying…
